There are two ways to have your agreement drawn up, depending on where you're starting from:
- Single lawyer, jointly instructed – for couples who have already agreed the terms between them and want one solicitor to formalise and document that agreement.
- Two independent lawyers – each partner has their own solicitor, giving the agreement an extra layer of protection and the strongest standing if it's ever challenged.
Both routes produce a strong agreement built on the same foundation of full disclosure and fair terms. If you're already aligned on the terms, a single jointly-instructed lawyer is a straightforward way to formalise them. If you want the added assurance of each having your own independent advice, that option is there too. Wenup supports both from the start.
